Baked Mac and Cheese

Ingredients

  • Pasta - Macaroni 325 ml

  • Milk 325 ml

  • Butter 45 ml

  • Flour 45 ml

  • Cheese - Cheddar 250 ml

  • Hot Sauce 5 ml

  • Bread Crumbs 80 ml

  • Salt 15 ml

Preparation

  1.Turn on the oven to 350.
  2.Fill a large pot with water, and when boiling and the salt and Macaroni. Drain when cooked. Set aside.
  3.Melt 1/3 of the butter, pour over bread crumbs and mix well. Set aside.
  4.Grate cheese.
  5.In a small pot on a low burner, add the remaining butter, and when melted, gradually stir in the flour. Let cook for a minute, the gradually add the milk making first a thick past then a thin, before adding the remaining milk.
  6.Turn up the burner to medium low, and let the milk warm, stirring occasionally. Add the hot sauce then cheese. Let the cheese melt.
  7.Pour the macaroni into an oven proof bowl, pour in the milk/cheese mixture and stir. Top with bread crumbs.
  8.Put in the oven for 30 minutes or until bubbling.
